The 26″ Quick-Open Deep Parabolic Softbox from Angler lives up to its name via its built-in support rods that lift and lock into place, as well as its widely-compatible Bowens S-Type speed ring. The softbox also features individual push-button support rod releases that will have you packed and on your way to the next job in seconds.
The softbox has a high-output reflective silver interior that maximizes your light source’s output, as well as removable inner and outer diffusers that give the image-makers quality-of-light options. There are four ways to use the softbox. For the softest, flattering light, use both the inner and outer diffuser together. Want a little more snap and contrast? Try removing the inner diffuser. Still want more? Use the inner diffuser alone. Finally, remove both diffusers and use the softbox as a large reflector for high contrast and long throw work. A bonus of this form factor is the interesting, natural-looking catchlights reflected in your subjects’ eyes.
The softbox is compatible with any manufacturer’s fixture that uses the popular Bowens front accessory mount, but Angler also makes speed ring inserts that permit use of brands such as Profoto (ANBBARPRO), Elinchrom (ANBBAREL), and Broncolor (ANBBARBRL). The speed ring can be rotated 360 degrees and locked down with a simple thumb screw.
Button Release
For super-fast setup and breakdown each integrated support rod lifts and snaps into place for use. Release is just as fast – simply lift the rod slightly from the speed ring and push its dedicated button and you’re done. Most shooters will release the rods from two sides simultaneously, considerably speeding up the process.

Angler also has speed ring inserts that allow you to use other popular brands such as Profoto, Elinchrom, and Broncolor.

The reflective silver maximizes the light source’s output and adds a bit of crispness to the quality of light.

An optional fabric grid is available to eliminate spill light and add the directional control needed for selective lighting. When the shoot is over the grid folds down to a fraction of its open size.
